What are the Credit Bureaus up to now ?

What does this new Vantage Score mean ? This new vantage score ( Vscore ) means nothing to you the consumer ! The marketing spin currently being publicized is that all three credit bureaus are going to be utilizing the same credit score algorithm ( Vantage Score algorithm ) so that the variance in credit scores between the three main credit bureaus is minimal. Sounds great however looks to me like this is just one more credit report score to sell. It is really important that everyone understands that Credit Bureaus make their money by selling credit reports. With this new and improved Vantage score this opens up one more additional credit score for sale.

How does this new Vantage Score or Vscore affect me ? Once again I think it is really important that I set some expectations. If you have bad credit today you will have bad credit when you have been re-scored by the vantage score or vscore algorithm. One last important thing to consider is I am not aware of any lenders that have adjusted their lending criteria for this new VScore / Vantage Credit Score.
